Annual Scholarship Dinner
The College Woman’s Club of Westfield awarded $50,000 in Scholarships at its 109th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Echo Lake Country Club. The awards were presented to eight young women from Westfield to help them pursue their college education. The recipients were selected based on academic achievement, community service, and financial need. The College Women’s Club of Westfield Scholarships were presented by scholarship committee chairwoman, Kris Luka. Mia Saco received the Past Presidents’ Scholarship totaling $7,400. Mia plans on to pursue the Fine Arts and Musical Theater at Ryder College. Autmn Harper received the Fran Faltermayer Scholarship and the College Woman’s Club Scholarships totaling $6,200. Ms. Harper will attend the College of Charleston is planning to major in Business and Dance. Sarah Nissin received the Esther Carlson Scholarship totaling $8000. Ms. Nissin will pursue a degree in Business Management at Virgina Tech. Ava Contract is the recipient of the Patricia Byrne Scholarship and a College woman’s club Scholarship totaling $6,400. Ava will be attending Fairfield University, where she directly accepted into its highly selective nursing program. Ijeoma Anyaele is a recipient of a $10,000 CWC scholarship. Ms. Anyaele will be pursuing a degree in nursing at Howard University. Elle Witten is also a recipient of a $10,000 CWC scholarship. Ms. Witten will be attending Elon University and plans to major strategic communications. Madison Tacktikos is a recipient of the Esther Carlson Scholarship totaling $1,500. Madison continues her studies at The University of South Carolina, where she is studying a dual major in Biology and Psychology. Alice Schaefer is a recipient of the Freda Margiloff Scholarship totaling $1,500. Ms. Schaefer will attend Boston University where she will be studying a degree in Psychology. The College Woman’s Club of Westfield is proud to acknowledge this outstanding group of young women. Applications for the scholarship are available through local high school guidance departments in January of each year and are evaluated by a committee of CWC members each spring. Funds for the scholarships come from community donations, nominal membership dues, interest on investments and legacies from our members. Thanks to all who attended and donated throughout the year to make this astounding night possible.
