Tour & Cream Tea at Reeves- Reed Arboretum

The Garden Group and other members from CWC gathered at Reeves Arboretum last Wednesday for a lovely afternoon tour and tea. The first part of the afternoon was a tour of Horticulture and History Walking Tour of the grounds. We learned about the grounds surrounding the historic Wisner House, landscaped with elements designed by Calvert Vaux. Including a stunning rose garden, a fragrant herb garden, and varied azaleas and flowering trees, although we missed the Daffodil Bowl in full bloom there were still a few blooms remaining.

The afternoon was followed by Cream Tea at the Winser House at the Arboretum. The menu was filled with a wide selection of teas, freshly baked scones, tea sandwiches, jam and clotted cream. All of this was followed up with a sweet treat and a prosecco mimosa or sparkling lemonade. A wonderful time was had by all. This well-attended event gave members a long-awaited taste of Spring.
